What's up for the Week of 11/26- 12/2

This week is a highly intuitive and creative week with five planets in fire signs. It is a challenge to stay grounded since there are no planets in earth.

We are still in the throes of Saturn in opposition to Neptune. This aspect was exact 8/31/06. The reason we are still affected by this aspect is due to Saturn, which is about to go retrograde.

This aspect will be strong again when Saturn makes its second pass opposite Neptune 2/28/07. Until Saturn makes its third pass on 6/25/07, we will be continually under the influence of the aspect. This is one of the reasons for procrastination, fuzzy feelings, or depression. After Saturn goes retrograde on 12/5, the feeling will lift somewhat. Most of the time this aspect is like a whisper in the background.

Saturn in a difficult aspect brings limitations, and melancholy, while Neptune creates the desire for fantasy and escape. It creates feelings of frustration with life on Earth, and a desire to get the heck out. It's a sort of a "what's the use transit. I just don't have the energy to do anything."

Keep telling yourself it's not you, it's the transit that's creating these feelings, and it will eventually pass. Tell yourself everyday that you want to see the things in life that make you want to stay here. Tell yourself you want to see the joy in life. If you make the effort to build on the good things, Saturn will reward you, and Neptune will bring you peace.

Week of 11/19 - 11/25

This week continues the shift into fire energy. Venus moved into fiery Sagittarius last week, now the Sun follows on 11/22. This shifts us from the intense emotions of Scorpio into the drive and passion of Sagittarius and Leo. Jupiter moves into Sag on 11/23. Four planets are in Sagittarius, Sun, Venus, Jupiter and Pluto, with Saturn in Leo, totaling five planets in fire.

This fiery energy may be part of the reason that people feel rushed at the holidays, even more so this year with so much fire. This brings restlessness, and procrastination, (Sagittarius doesn’t want to stop long enough to complete anything.) The mutability of Sag causes a lot of rushing here and there. It also causes indecision. Should I get this gift or that gift, at this store or that store? It also takes more effort to do things in an orderly fashion, and it’s easy to be sidetracked, and wander off into something else. Flexibility is the key for a successful November and December.

Two other big events are the station of Uranus on 11/20 and the entrance of Jupiter into its home sign Sagittarius on 11/23.

Book Review - "Cosmic Trends"

I really needed to put my nose in a book and forget the outside world for a bit, or maybe I should say the inside world. The energy has been intense the last few days, or should I say the last week. I needed to get lost in the world of words, and get my radar off the feel of the current celestial events. Usually, I'm able to catch myself when the mood swings come that are created by planetary and celestial energy. This intensity is caused by five planets transiting through Scorpio, a quarter Moon in Leo, the Scorpio planets, and the upcoming Uranus station.

In the nick of time,"Cosmic Trends", a book by astrologer Philip Brown, published recently by Llewellyn, arrived in the mail. If you need a book to get you out of the doldrums this is the one.

Cosmic Trends is a fantastic astrology book, informative and entertaining. During my many years as an astrologer, I've read thousands of books, and many of them can be rather dry, but this book is a well written, page-turner. You don't have to know anything about astrology to enjoy the book, but as you read, you'll learn a lot of astrology.

Cosmic Trends is about trends past and present, and Philip gives good examples of how these trends are related to the planets. At the end of each section, he gives a profile of a famous person as an illustration of the trend. For instance, his profile on Bob Dylan fits the image of the power of Pluto.

I've only finished three chapters, when I finish the book, I'll post more. Click here to read more about Philip Brown.

Healing on All Levels

Today is a good day to think about healing and taking care of yourself. The Moon has just entered Virgo and the Sun will be in Scorpio for a few more days. Virgo works with healing energy, and Scorpio gets to the bottom of things. Spend the next few days working on your health, diet, and exercise. A gentle, safe and effective form of movement is yoga. Spend the next few days doing some yoga postures.

Here is a new site for healing, yoga, and other things. If you're in the Syracuse area try out one of her yoga classes. She'll be doing articles on yoga in the future, and answering questions, so be sure to keep checking her site.

11/11 A Portal Opening

I want to get this out for those of you who live down under and have already started the 11/11 journey.

11/11 A Portal Opening

Today is a portal opening. Anywhere you are on earth, when it is the 11th of the month that day is always a portal day. In November it is even stronger. 11-11 was grounded several years ago on this planet and now we continue to reap the benefits when we reach and read the energy of the 11th day of November. You don't have to do anything special, climb mountains, light incense, pray or do a day long vigil. All you have to do is be open to the energy of the day. 11-11 is a master number, especially for those who have walked a path of service and evolution. Notice what you feel, or think, and then try to imagine what it will be like on 11/11/11. Be the i-magi.

Thoughts for Change in the New Dimension

The Life We Live, The Changes We Make

November is a time of change as we see by the falling of leaves in the North, or the shoots coming up in Southern climes. In November, the Sun is in the sign Scorpio, the sign of change and transformation. This year we have had five planets in Scorpio and that means we are seeing major transformation.

There has been a big shift in the US in the past few days as the voters went to the polls and let the world know that the old ways no longer work, and that they are tired of death and corruption. This is another sign that big change is coming. I know some say that there is not that much difference between the parties, and that's often true. But the important point is that the people have made a statement, they want change.

I have another site where I post thoughts on how to work with the changes in our world. We are going into a new dimension and the energy is different. I know because I can feel it, and so will you if you haven't already.

We have a few more weeks to complete our transformations. Here are a few thoughts to help you make the changes:

Time Feels Slow
In the non-physical realm time and manifestation are instantaneous. This is one of the reasons we get to frustrated and restless when we are waiting for something. We are used to the feeling of immediacy.

The Good Life

We aren't here just to experience the material life. We are also here to have the experience of creating the material life.

A Matter of Change

We are learning to work with change day in and day out, nothing is constant. Things often appear to be the same on the outside, but this is an illusion. For example, when the Earth does a revolution, it does not come back to the same spot, in fact that spot is many miles away. The Sun moves 220km/s, and if you looked at the same area of the sky 24 hours later, based on the Sun's movement alone, we have actually traveled about 19,008,00 km. This does not factor in the movement of the Earth or the Milky Way. Who or where will you be tomorrow? It's amazing that we don't feel the speed of the movement. Everything is in perfect order.

Time Is On Its Way

If you suddenly feel as if you have lost track of time, you probably have. Our perceptions are changing, and what we call reality is changing as well. This is not the same thing as walking into a room and forgetting what you were going to do. That is another matter. This is the feeling that there has been some type of shift, that time has either speeded up, slowed down, or disappeared altogether.

Here are some of the feelings and thoughts that go with the time shift. You may feel one of them, or you may feel them all.

An hour or more has gone by, and yet you feel as if you're in a time warp. as if time doesn't exist. The clock has moved ahead an hour, but it feels as if time is standing still.

Your depth perception is off. You go to reach for something an overshoot the mark. You may bump your head, or body. You lift something and it feels heavier or lighter than usual.

You hear sounds such as tinkling of bells or a high note.

Your body just doesn't feel right, but nothing seems wrong. You may feel achy or heavy.

Feeling lethargic is another symptom. Part of this has to do with being in a new space and not knowing what to do with it. It's like going to a new place without a map, and it's a little tiring moving around at first. Once you get used to the terrain and the timing, you'll feel more energetic.

One moment you feel as if everything is zooming by, and the next you feel as if you're at a dead stop. The energy we are going through will be at a crest, and the next moment in a trough. Think of time as coming and going with the tides.

Focus Changes Everything

The way we focus on things sets up a pattern that brings more of the same. If you're in a park watching children play ball, and you hear them laughing with delight and joy, and you notice their accomplishments, you'll hear more joy, and you set up a pattern to attract joy and accomplishments into your life. A person near you may hear yelling and screaming, and cringe in discomfort with each sound. This sets up a pattern to hear more loud shouting, and loud attractions that make that person cringe and feel more discomfort.

Small Stuff

When something happens notice how you feel. Feelings are a guide to how you're doing in life. If you don't feel good about something, your inner source is telling you that you want something else. You're uncomfortable with the negative attraction and want the positive. Thinking about what makes you happy will adjust your inner positive attraction meter and voila, here comes the good stuff. Do this with everything in life, the little as well as the big stuff.

For instance, if you have a bad hair day, say to yourself I want to like my hair. I want to feel good about the way I look. Look at pictures of hairdos that you like, or pull out pictures of yourself that make you feel good.

The small stuff gets you ready to want the big stuff.

Climbing the Mountain

Think of yourself as the mountain goat whose climb is steady and upward, one sure foot at a time. You don't need to look back and see who is watching, or to look side to side to see if there may be a better way. Keep going on the path and look forward. The good advice of climbers is not to look down but to keep moving forward and upward. Don't let your thoughts go back either.

True Astrology Confessions and the Transit of Mercury

This is a re-do of this article which I posted on 11/6. I corrected the date for the Transit of Mercury. It will occur on 11/8/06. I'll blame the typo on Mercury Rx.

A special planetary event will take place on 11/8/06. Retrograde Mercury will cross the face of the Sun. In astrology this is called a conjunction, but because Mercury is so close to the Sun, the retrograde and the conjunction are more powerful than usual.

From Space Weather News for Nov. 5, 2006

TRANSIT OF MERCURY: On Wednesday, Nov. 8th, Mercury will pass directly in front of the sun. The rare transit will be visible from the Americas, Hawaii and all around the Pacific Rim. It begins at 2:12 p.m. EST (11:12 a.m. PST) and lasts for nearly five hours.

Because Mercury is so small, only a tiny fraction of the sun will be covered. So don't stare at the sun on Wednesday; it will be as blinding as ever. Instead, try to view the event through a properly-filtered solar telescope. Mercury's tiny, jet-black silhouette passing in front of solar prominences, filaments and sunspots should be a marvelous sight.

Mercury Retrograde and the Transit of Mercury

This has been an odd Mercury Rx, and some people have been hit hard because this Mercury Rx also includes the "Transit of Mercury".

Personally, I've noticed that it's been slowing me down. I don't feel like writing, and I'm making more typos. It seems to be hitting me more on an inner level than an outer level, but there are eleven days left, so it may manifest outwardly before it's over. I also keep forgetting to get an appointment for routine maintenance on my car, which is a good thing to do in a Mercury Rx. It's a good time to do things over, or fix things, but not a good time to do new things, even if you think they're fixing an old problem. Keep reading to see how it has affected another astrologer.

"True astrology confessions.

A few quotes from the blog of astrologer Philip Brown of Astrofuturetrends.com.
Mercury retrograde got me. I wasn’t paying attention. Well, I was, but not close enough..... What I was not paying attention to was the switch we tried to make to a new phone company. In my own defense, I tried to do this a week before Mercury turned retrograde—but that’s not a very good defense for an astrologer, because I know that Mercury’s motion slows down before it goes retrograde and the effects of that slowing motion can be apparent. 11/11 Mercury 12 Scorpio 53 conjunct Mars Scorpio

For those of you who read my "Weekly Planets" posted on Saturday, 11/4, I left out this poor Mercury transit.

This is the transit that's responsible for verbal sparring and since they're both in Scorpio, words cut deep. Think of the phrase "cut to the chase". This has all the earmarks of Mars in Scorpio. Mars is the planet of cutting, and Scorpio likes to get to the bottom of things. This is not a good time for agreements with this powerful Mercury Rx, they will take more effort than usual. If you make any agreements or negotiations at this time, if you don't pay attention now, when Mercury goes direct you'll have to cut out some of the wording .

Week of November 5 – November 11

Here's a peek at what's going on this week with the planets. This is based on Standard East Coast time (EST)

For more information go to "This Week's Planets" on my website where weekly planets are posted before the end of the weekend.

Once again, this is a very slow week with five planets in the fixed, water-sign Scorpio, as well as Saturn in the fixed, fire-sign Leo, and Neptune in the fixed, air-sign Aquarius. This gives us seven planets in fixed signs. The only earth sign this week is with the Taurus Moon on the 11/5 - 11/6.

If you've been feeling as if life has been boring and stagnant for the past few weeks, it's because of all the fixed planets. But don't be fooled, many things are going on below the surface and will boil up when activated. Scorpio is the sign of hidden power, things are intensely brewing, and all it takes is one planet to come along and activate all that subconscious power, such as the Full Beaver (Mourning) Moon in Taurus on 11/5.

11/5 FULL MOON 12 TAURUS 58 - 7:58 AM EST

The Moon in Taurus opposite Scorpio may act like a charge setting off the energy that's been quietly standing by. When the bull gets riled, he charges quickly, and once he's made his lunge, his rage is over instantly. Anyone with planets in fixed signs will feel the push/pull. Scorpio is often compared to the eruption of a volcano, seething quietly then suddenly erupting. The opposite of Scorpio, Taurus the Bull, is just as deadly when provoked.

The Moon is busy forming aspects with five planets. The most difficult aspect is the t-square, formed by an opposition to the Sun, Venus, and Mercury, and at the same time with a square to Neptune. This kicks off the aspects between Sun and Venus with Neptune later in the week.

There will be tension in relationships and finances all week. The healing profession and the military as a whole will be challenged by this moon. Today the Saddam verdict is supposed to be out; precautions are already being set in place for repercussions through the week.

11/6 VENUS 17 SCORPIO SQUARE NEPTUNE 17 AQUARIUS 7:24 PM EST

The effects of this aspect will be seen in news about the upcoming election in the USA. We've already seen a consequence of this aspect with the evangelical minister scandal, which is already affecting the political scene. Neptune creates lies and deceit when in bad condition. The square from Venus causes friction in any type of relationship, personal or public. This brings unrealistic promises that lead to disappointment. Relationships based on subterfuge will be shaken out. Now is not the time to let fantasy lead you astray. Expectations are not based on reality.

11/7 MERCURY 17 SCORPIO CONJUNCT VENUS 17 SCORPIO 11:51 AM EST

This is a day for communication; the wires will be buzzing, and gossip, slander, or scandals about others will be let loose. There is a tendency to manipulate when planets are in Scorpio, so pay attention to what people say, and don't react. This also applies to any media and government spin. Basically, this transit involves thoughts and feelings. Feelings are vulnerable because of Scorpio, and people affected by Mercury may try to take advantage of sensitivity. Normally, Mercury conjunct Venus is a mellow aspect, but the fixed t-square with the emphasis of Scorpio makes this aspect stronger than usual.

You may have thoughts about loved ones, or art and beauty; or you may wish to spend time in a museum, or on an artistic endeavor. Art will be more of a communicative nature. This is a good day for those in the graphic or media arts.

This is also a day to think about finances. Venus rules money, watch the markets fluctuate.

With the Scorpio emphasis, conversations and communications will not be superficial; there will be a desperate quality to ideas and words. There will also be powerful words about changes. This may have a slight affect on the monetary system. Today is election Tuesday in the US; there will be a last minute effort to manipulate with words.

11/8 MERCURY17 SCORPIO SQUARE NEPTUNE 17 AQUARIUS 3:24 AM EST

Uncertainty, confusion, and disillusionment rule the day. Talk will be about reality and the illusions that we must give up. Not all information will be forthcoming. Neptune like secrets, and will try to keep things undercover. Don't believe everything you hear today.

11/8 MARS 10 SCORPIO 51 TRINE URANUS 10 PISCES 11:23 AM EST

This is a powerful transit for activity. Mars gives us our drive, and when it is in Scorpio, we seem to have an endless reservoir of energy. Uranus adds a twist of the unusual, and bursts of energy. This is a transit of breakthroughs. People involved in research and investigation will have a chance to make great strides. It's a day of new action and originality. This day definitely clears out the cobwebs. If you want a day to plan on getting things done in a hurry, today is the day

11/8 TRANSIT OF MERCURY 16 SCORPIO 20 - 4:31 PM EST

This is the conjunction of the Sun and Mercury, and the midpoint of the Mercury retrograde. Because it is across the face of the Sun, it is stronger than usual. Now is a good time to think about the steps to success. Thoughts will be centered on self, and ideas will be more expressive and creative. This is a good time for speeches, commerce, paperwork, and local travel. As always, in a Mercury retro, plan this around some type of review, or redo.

11/9 SUN 17 SCORPIO SQUARE NEPTUNE 17 AQUARIUS 10:00 AM EST

This is a low energy transit. Neptune puts a damper on the fire and enthusiasm of the Sun. Don't make serious plans, or work on long-range plans. Neptune frustrates the search for success ruled by the Sun. Neptune also gives a sensitivity and awareness of disappointments. If you’re experiencing feelings of inadequacy or any feelings that belittle you, change your focus. Don't try to deal with the challenging aspects of life today if you don't have to.
Wishing You Magic and Miracles
