Give up TV?
More and more people are giving up television. Does this sound nuts?
This is creating something interesting - more socializing!
One group of friends avoided TV withdrawal by doing occasional pot lucks with a friend who wouldn’t give up TV. They watch NCIS, CSI, So You Think You Can Dance, X Factor, American Idol, movies, comedies, politics, news, and/or documentaries and many other shows. After dinner, the visitors clean up. At the beginning of a show, they vote for the winner, or the perp. Whoever guesses correctly doesn’t have to assist in the cleanup.

I was visiting Ireland in the early 70's. When I went down to the lobby of the hotel, the entire village was sitting in the lobby watching television while drinking and eating. The waiter told me they most of the people didn't have televisions. (I had 3 color sets in my home.) He also told me it was the big event in town.
Would you go into withdrawal without a TV in your home, or would it open up a new and wonderful way of living?
Young children and teens don't watch much TV. They are more interested in the internet, video games, and texting, so they wouldn't miss TV that much. For parents, TV is a form of babysitting or getting the kids out of their hair. Isn't there a better way?
The internet is replacing TV. The internet brings current news from around the world faster than the TV. If I want to know the current weather instantly, I go to the internet not a weather channel on TV.
Our relationship with TV must evolve. We are manipulated by television, especially advertising, politics, and the nightly news.
What would you do with that extra $50 or $100 a month, or $1200 per year?
There is "life after television".
What does this have to do with Astrology? 2012 completes the Transit of Venus. This event occurs every 250. Every time Venus crosses the Sun we have made major advances in communication and discovery.
